Manny Ohonme, President of Samaritan’s Feet, concluded walking 300 miles in his bare feet with one last mile around Discovery Mill Mall in Lawrenceville, Georgia as thousands of others did the same with Manny in other locations around the world.

We’ve done it! The 2008 FILA/Samaritan’s Feet World Walk to provide shoes for the impoverished is finished. As the name of Damien Horne’s CD is “Somebody’s Hero,” this was the spirit that pervaded throughout the entire 300-mile walk that began on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway at Concord, NC and concluded Saturday, October, 25, 2008 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Kiwanis Club of Pineville-South Meck sponsored up to 60 walkers at the Fila World Walk Launch at Concord Mills Mall, Concord, N.C. on a beautiful Saturday morning, Oct. 11th.

Speedway Children's Charities is excited about our partnership with Samaritan's Feet for the World Walk. We are honored to support Samaritan's Feet in their mission to put shoes on the feet of 10 million children within 10 years. US based charity Samaritan's Feet is proud to announce that Fila, the Italian sportswear brand, will be the presenting sponsor of the World Walk, scheduled for October 11th - 25th, 2008.

On Saturday, October 11th, Manny Ohonme will begin walking barefoot on a two week course from Charlotte to Atlanta to bring awareness to the more than 300 million children around the world who have never owned a pair of shoes. As the founder of international humanitarian organization, Samaritan's Feet, Ohonme walked barefoot as a poor child in Nigeria-growing up with a dream of providing shoes for children.
