HONG KONG (Feb. 3, 2010) – Mosaic, a group of around 30 students in the University of Hong Kong (HKU) hosted its annual A cappella concert in early February 2010, and donated all profits (totaling US $7,700 USD) to Samaritan’s Feet in support of its continuous mission to distribute shoes of hope and love around the world.
A cappella music is a form of singing which does not involve musical instruments. The HKU-based team hosted its annual A cappella Concert for two consecutive nights on February 2 and 3, 2010 in Sai Wan Ho Civic Center, Hong Kong. Over 800 fans attended the two nights of passionate music, love, and laughter.
The highlights of the show included songs like hot pop music like “High School Musical 3”, “Bad Day”, classics like “William Tell Overture” as well as numerous local songs. In the middle of the concert, the entire Mosaic group went bare-foot to sing the song “Heal the World” and shared the mission and passion of Samaritan’s Feet.
“It is truly God’s blessing and calling for a young teenager like me in Asia to catch the attention of Samaritan’s Feet in an ordinary day when I watched Inside the NBA on TNT around 2 years ago,” said Justen Li, a member of Mosaic, as he recalled how Mosaic contacted Samaritan’s Feet as its beneficiary for the concert.
"...Since I talked with Manny after the TNT show we have been praying for opportunities to cooperate and share the vision to more people in Hong Kong. I felt very excited about the whole experience, especially when audience members emailed me after the show to talk more about Samaritan’s Feet. I prayed that God’s Kingdom would come and He would continue to use people He called around the world to glorify His name.”
